I thought I'd be loving this back to school thing. The house stays clean longer and Reilly is having a blast. But on the other hand I have a little girl at my heals needing to have some Polly Pocket time and wanting apple juice every 30 minutes. Reilly is playing with all his friends again but I have to get up early every day. I have a chance to blog again but that is after (or in this case during)bath time and after homework. Plus I kinda miss the big guy. Reilly is someone I can actually have a conversation with even if its mostly about Nascar. I guess I just gotta get into the swing of things again and we'll be good to go. In the meanwhile I'll just enjoy the little extra alone time and remember that these early years with my babies go by way too fast.

Mom returns
I'm back from a wild weekend with da' women. We had a blast in Galveston in an incredible house just a block from the beach. It was a welcomed vacation from the incessant chaos that I welcome each day. The kids seemed to have survived as well as love muffin. Although they did run out to my car to greet me as if to say Thank God you're home mom!
Lessons Learned: I learned a lot about some of my mommy friends this weekend. Some of it was useful, some not-s0-useful. I learned lots of birth stories, love stories and bathroom idiosyncracies. I learned who's grossed out by bugs, chives, and most things slimy. I learned who likes to drive in the rain and who has to make potty stops because of driving in it. I learned who likes to talk about all things food. But I still don't know why American cheese isn't good for the kids. I learned that vacations are rough on the digestive tract (especially the lower regions). I learned that we all like to lay around in jammies and t shirts and welcome any opportunity to pop the bra straps at the end of the day. I learned that although we're mostly all past thirty, we can still be wearing stuff to hold our teeth strait and when you do you sound like my 2 year old with a binky in her mouth. And lastly I learned that moms, no matter where we come from or how we grew up we take care of each other and we never grow tired of birth stories and baby bragging and love stories. And I look forward every time I see my friends to learn more.
