Catch-up

Well I thought I was in full swing again with this blog thing but alas, I'm lazy. Let me catch up real quick so I don't feel like I'm years behind as I am on my scrapbooks...
Meggie loves school and hasn't shed a tear since she's gone. She can even sing a mean ditty about the Monkey's falling out of bed. I love my tuesdays of freedom. However they go by FAST! I have managed to cross out a few things off the "list". The PaintMor website is still the most dreaded and daunting thing lingering. LoveMuffin is laying on the guilt on that one.
Speaking of LoveMuffin, he has for the past 5 days quit smoking!!! Yeah! I think this it. He's doing really well and hasn't taken out his urges on us and I would call that a minor success. I'm really proud of him because I'm sure it's really hard after smoking for 18 years. I have to say that I was skeptical since he is using "accupressure" to quit. He heard about it on Howard Stern. Enough said. But it's two magnets that he wears for a few hours a day (at home) on the top of his ear. Sounds pretty hokey but it's working for him and that's all I care about. Go Tim!
I hosted the 2nd annual Bunco Bowl a few weeks ago. Fun with the girlies again. Loved having our newest bunco baby in attendance, Catherine. She's just one of the girls already! We ended up with no bunco box so we did our new favorite backup game, Left Center Right. I love it! Way to go Narci and Joni for their big $25 pots.

That's all I got right now. Gotta save some verbage for next time!

Mom returns

I'm back from a wild weekend with da' women. We had a blast in Galveston in an incredible house just a block from the beach. It was a welcomed vacation from the incessant chaos that I welcome each day. The kids seemed to have survived as well as love muffin. Although they did run out to my car to greet me as if to say Thank God you're home mom! Lessons Learned: I learned a lot about some of my mommy friends this weekend. Some of it was useful, some not-s0-useful. I learned lots of birth stories, love stories and bathroom idiosyncracies. I learned who's grossed out by bugs, chives, and most things slimy. I learned who likes to drive in the rain and who has to make potty stops because of driving in it. I learned who likes to talk about all things food. But I still don't know why American cheese isn't good for the kids. I learned that vacations are rough on the digestive tract (especially the lower regions). I learned that we all like to lay around in jammies and t shirts and welcome any opportunity to pop the bra straps at the end of the day. I learned that although we're mostly all past thirty, we can still be wearing stuff to hold our teeth strait and when you do you sound like my 2 year old with a binky in her mouth. And lastly I learned that moms, no matter where we come from or how we grew up we take care of each other and we never grow tired of birth stories and baby bragging and love stories. And I look forward every time I see my friends to learn more.
